“And they become more important during harder times.”In Argentina, an examination of candy imports and exports in the sweets sector can provide some insight into the state of the economy. And though lipstick sales decreased around the time of the 2008 Great Recession, nail polish sales increased by 65 percent. In their recession of 2001, lipstick sales increased, prompting Leonard Lauder, chairman emeritus of the Estée Lauder makeup company, to coin the phrase “the lipstick index” to explain this improbable rise. Overall candy and cookie consumption is down in Argentina, and exports have fallen by 21.4 percent. According to a report from the Research on the Economic Sectors (IES), for the first five months of this year, imports on sweets have grown by 27.5 percent.

How will it work work? They tend to be quite large, so if you’re thinking of buying something, make sure you read how many items you’re getting. Let’s take a look at a couple of items being offered:Shipment 12001M ARE001 199R contains 1,804 books, the initial bid being AR $55,563.20. The new restrictions meant that customers could only purchase a maximum of two items a year, and effectively ended door-to-door courier services. Remember that crate of books you ordered off Amazon last year that never ever came because you only belatedly found out about import restrictions?

President Mauricio Macri, Cabinet Chief Marcos Peña and Environment Minister Sergio Bergman have created a brand new National Cabinet for Climate Change. Decree 891/ 2016 for the creation of said Cabinet was signed yesterday and published in the Official Bulletin today. I really doubt anyone finds the thought of swimming through the San Telmo markets appealing if Buenos Aires truly does go underwater, as Climate Central suggested. It confirms that Argentine will adopt the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol. Read more: Buenos Aires Will Become Atlantis At This Rate Of Climate ChangeAccording to the International Cryosphere Climate Initiative, the glaciers are melting at the fastest rate in the past 350 years.

But since news of the rise in oil prices broke, supermarkets’ oil stock has dwindled drastically. The government eliminated subsidies on oil in supermarkets, which will lead to a sharp rise in the price of oil. Oil Prices In Supermarkets Set To TripleOil price increases have been capped at 30 percent and while markets have largely accepted this mark, they don’t accept the proposed timeline. I will relish in that noise this week before oil falls victim to prices gone wild. The sound of oil popping in a pan on top of the stove is like a beautiful serenade to my empty stomach.

Over the past few days, there has been an escalation of tensions between President Mauricio Macri and TV presenter Marcelo Tinelli. Tinelli satirizes me in a bad way before three million people on television [but] takes offense over 30,000 Twitter users,” concluded Macri. How could there not be 30,000 Twitter users that sympathize with the government when this administration is largely [made] from social networks?” said Macri. Tinelli is the presenter of the program, which enjoys some of the highest TV ratings in the country. But there were 30,000 Twitter users that criticized him.

In this database, phone network companies list IMEI numbers of devices that were reported stolen, which helps generate a red list that gets updated each day. In a city as large and busy as Buenos Aires, this figure doesn’t actually seem too surprising, considering the amount of people passing through the Subte, colectivos and streets each day. “We need more campaigns, more police monitoring areas where these crimes take place, and monitoring and investigating into these organization that change IMEI numbers. Just as several years ago most crimes of theft had to do with automobiles, now most crimes of theft are to do with phones and that same attention needs to be granted.” The study also indicates the areas of Buenos Aires where you are most susceptible to these thieves include the neighborhoods of Retiro, Once, Constitución and Liniers, as well as large shopping malls and train stations in the city.

According to resolution 166 published yesterday in the Official Bulletin, ANSES will periodically send over information about citizens’ names, last names, ID numbers, addresses, phone numbers, emails, dates of birth, civil statuses and education levels. In the northern part of the country there were people who contracted the disease, in the center we had to talk about prevention and in the south we understand there are no mosquitoes,” the source said. It doesn’t have to be like that. Government sources told Clarín they are specifically seeking to go from a “unidirectional style of communication to one where the message reaches whoever it has to.” “For example, when we launched the awareness campaign against dengue (a disease transferred by a certain type of mosquitoes), we had a single message. “It is essential for the government to identify, evaluate and analyze the different problems or matters of interest in every region of the country, as well as understand and detect social and cultural variables that allow to incorporate federal diversity in public communication,” reads a passage of the resolution, which goes on to inform that the agreement between organizations will last two years.

Gerardo Werthein, the president of the Argentine Olympic Committee, yesterday announced that part of the Argentine delegation for the upcoming Río Olympics won’t be staying in the Olympic Village due to the poor state of the accommodations. But 213 Argentine athletes are taking part in the Olympics, and that’s without taking into account coaching staff and COA officials. Since the delegation will now be using three floors, 144 athletes would be able to stay in the Village at the same time. The committee said it will move part of the delegation to apartments nearby the Village. We are renting nearby apartments and moving coaching staff and officials to have athletes stay in the town,” said Werthein.

After a long day of very intense research, we came to the conclusion that the ExpoRural is definitely worth checking out. The gauchos hanging out by every stall are the real deal, and an intense reverence towards Argentina’s soil and its traditions is thick in the air. There are also dedicated music stands where you can sit (if you’re lucky enough to find a seat) and enjoy traditional folk music and dancing. After spending a brief moment fantasizing about what it would be like to spend the rest of our lives atop a gilded sulky, we moved on to the outdoor music stands. If you’ve never been, the only thing that even comes close to being comparable is a very large state fair.

Sanders said Wasserman Schultz, a member of Congress from Florida, had made the right decision for the future of the Democratic Party. The four-day Democratic convention will open today. The emails angered many Sanders supporters who were already dismayed by Clinton’s choice on Friday of low-key US Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia as her vice-presidential running-mate. It’s a stunning fall for the tough-talking Florida representative who became the first woman elected to chair the DNC. Branding himself a “democratic socialist,” Sanders galvanized young and liberal voters with his calls to rein in Wall Street and eradicate income inequality.

“I think when you put all this together, it’s a disturbing picture and voters need to reflect on that.”Trump campaign officials rejected the suggestion as absurd. Although other experts remain sceptical of a Russian role, the hacking incident has caused alarm within the Clinton campaign and also in the national security arena. Monday, July 25, 2016 Clinton campaign points finger at Russia for controversyWASHINGTON — A top official with Hillary Clinton’s campaign yesterday accused the Russian government of orchestrating the release of damaging Democratic Party records in order to help the campaign of Republican Donald Trump — and some cyber security experts in the US and overseas agree. The extraordinary charge came as some national security officials have been growing increasingly concerned about possible efforts by Russia to meddle in the election, according to several individuals familiar with the situation. Beyond Mook, DNC and Clinton campaign officials have not responded to requests for comment since Firday as reporters and unnerved campaign staff tried to assess the damage caused by the release, which comes just as the party holds a nominating convention in Philadelphia designed to project unity after a bitter primary season.

The tug of war has also been accompanied by a rollback on how the AFI can manage its confidential funds. Prosecutors are one of the parties in investigations,” said Justice Minister Germán Garavano when the transfer was announced. “Several judges have complained about the way the wiretaps are conducted and it is true that only judges can order to invade someone’s privacy, not prosecutors. Prosecutor Cristina Caamaño had been in charge of the office located on Los Incas Avenue for just shy of six months when the DNU was signed. “It will definitively not be the same as having (former SI Operations Chief Antonio “Jaime”) Stiuso.
