Workers in Britain’s financial services typically received the biggest bonuses in the global industry, after the UK scrapped a cap on bankers’ payouts. The average bonus paid to financial services professionals in the UK last year rose by almost 26 per cent year-on-year to $148,961, according to a survey of 2,500 global workers by eFinancialCareers, a jobs platform. This meant that Britain surpassed North America, where the average bonus for financial workers in the home of Wall Street increased by about 18 per cent to $145,817.
