U.S. Employers Added Sluggish 210,000 Jobs In November

WASHINGTON (AP) — America’s employers slowed the pace of their hiring in November, adding 210,000 jobs, the fewest in nearly a year. Friday’s report from the Labor Department also showed that the unemployment rate fell sharply to 4.2% from 4.6%. Many more job-seekers are needed to help companies fill their open jobs and sustain the economy’s growth. One result is that there are now 4.7 million fewer people with jobs than there were before the pandemic. And before COVID, many older Americans came out of retirement to take jobs, often for social reasons or to keep busy.
