Following 50 guests being diagnosed with a virus at the lavish Weston Hotel linked to Deputy President William Ruto, the government has moved fast to clarify that the food consumed was outsourced and not from the hotel. Cleopha Mailu, the Health Cabinet secretary said that no Cholera virus was found after a thorough inspection of the hotel’s kitchen. San Valencia restaurant and Jacaranda Hotel were the first to be shut down indefinitely following reports of the virus’ outbreak – reason being they were responsible for providing catering services to the people who were later hospitalised. It is said that the two hotels will only open after all staff have been cleared – not to be carrying the Cholera virus. Some even claimed with assumptions that its links with the Deputy President was the reason why it stayed open.
