Sarawak deploys Vet Dept officers to 5 rabies-affected villages to vaccinate cats, dogs


SERIAN: Some 500 cats and dogs in the five rabies-affected villages are expected to be vaccinated within this week. Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas said the Veterinary Services Department personnel have been deployed within 10km-radius of the affected villages; Kampung Paon Rimu, Kampung Paon Krait, Kampung Paon Rimu Bakung, Kampung Lebor dan Kampung Remun to address the situation. "We are targeting to vaccinate about 500 cats and dogs including those kept as pets within these next few days," he said. "So far, everything is going smoothly on the ground (vaccination operation), the villagers are very cooperatives with the our officers," he told the reporters after monitoring the situation at Kampung Paon Rimu, here, today. It was learnt that the two siblings had been laid to rest at the Christian Cemetery Kampung Paon Rimu Bakong at 10am today.
