KUALA LUMPUR: Local authorities nationwide should work with the relevant agencies to provide more designated cycling lanes, says Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye. The Alliance for Safe Community chairman said he agreed that cyclists should not be allowed on highways or expressways. However, he said local authorities should provide designated cycling lanes. He urged local authorities to work with the Youth and Sports Ministry to identify suitable locations for bicycle lanes. "Thus, the time has come to provide designated cycling lanes," he said.
