Professional boxing commission broke, chair cries for aid

Hillary Alila, chairman Kenya Professional Boxing Commission (KPBC), said the cash crunch has made it difficult for him to achieve targets. KPBC is mandated to manage professional boxing in Kenya, train and accredit coaches and match officials. The chairman of the boxing commission has defended waning performance of the sector on grounds of lack of cash. As a result, some of the professional boxers live in deplorable conditions, while others are facing serious health issues. It also manages and regulates promoters, identifies and brings on board partners and sponsors as well as set up and maintain existing professional boxing facilities.
