On Wednesday, a high-level Congolese delegation met with the Egyptian president and conveyed him a message from his Congolese president hailing Egypt’s support to efforts to preserve peace in DR Congo. The delegation was led by a special adviser to the Congolese president. The message also expressed appreciation to Egypt’s support to DR Congo in all regional and international forums and to the brotherly relations linking the two countries, Egyptian Presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said. The meeting also discussed a number of African issues of mutual concern, especially as DR Congo is set to assume the presidency of the African Union soon. Sisi affirmed that Egypt will support DR Congo during that stage.
