BUKIT MERTAJAM: The magistrate's court here fixed Aug 3 for mention of a case involving 19-year-old woman, whose act of driving against the flow of traffic along the North South Expressway (NSE) on March 14, claimed one life. Magistrate Jamaliah Abd Manap fixed the date to enable submissions of the relevant documents. Jamaliah also asked the accused, Ng Pei Ven to ensure her lawyer was present in court for the next mention date. When Ng was first charged, her lawyer, Parmjit Singh Mahinder, had urged the court to lower her bail, citing his client’s age and disability. Video footage of her driving against the flow of traffic had gone viral on social media.
