O'Brien's luck changes with Basilica win

St Mark’s Basilica, ridden by Frankie Dettori (right), gets the better of stablemate Wembley, ridden by Ryan Moore, to win the Darley Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket. Photo: Alan CrowhurstA difficult week for Aidan O'Brien ended on a much brighter note when he saddled the first two home, St Mark's Basilica and Wembley, in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket yesterday. The result was a reversal of the outcome of the National Stakes at the Curragh in which Thunder Moon had beaten Wembley and St Mark's Basilica in that order. "The winner's a good mover though and they're usually better on better ground. His form is good and he didn't have much to find on the second and third and it all worked out well.
