In the next three years we will bring another three new models in India,” Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) president and CEO Gaku Nakanishi said. When asked about the other three models, Nakanishi did not disclose details but said these could fill new segments, including the popular compact SUV vertical. When asked about company’s plans for electric vehicles, he said: “Currently we are preparing a strategy for India”. Till the time electric vehicles technology matures and becomes affordable, Nakanishi said the hybrid vehicles would be the bridge in the transition from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles. The petrol variants of the new Amaze are priced between Rs5.59 lakh and Rs7.99 lakh while the diesel variants are tagged between Rs6.69 lakh and Rs8.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
