By AYUMBA AYODIMore by this AuthorFormer world half marathon record holder Florence Kiplagat will be out to reclaim her title on Sunday when she lines up for Barcelona Half Marathon in Spain. Reigning world half champion Peris Jepchirchir broke the record two days ago. In February 2015, she broke her own World Half Marathon record in Barcelona in a time of 1:05:09. On that occasion, Kiplagat lowered her compatriot Mary Keitany’s three-year-record of 1:05:50 from 2011 RAK Half Marathon with a record-breaking feat of 1:05:09 at Barcelona Half Marathon. Kiplagat, the 2011 and 2013 Berlin Marathon champion, finished third at the 2016 London Marathon before winning the Chicago Marathon in a season’s best of 2:21:32.
