KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Wednesday quashed the first information report (FIR) against PML-N leader Capt (r) Safdar Awan after categorising the case against him as “C class”. A first information report (FIR) — registered against his wife Maryam Nawaz and some 200 others — said the suspects violated the sanctity of the mausoleum and Quaid’s grave and hurled murder threats at some individuals. Earlier this month, the investigating officer (IO) in the case submitted an amended charge sheet before the magistrate. He and the special public prosecutor then recommended the court to declare the case as “B class”. However, the judicial magistrate on Wednesday rejected the recommendation and categorised the case as “C class”.
