KUALA LUMPUR: The student debit card worth RM250 is not limited to books and stationeries alone but also for computer accessories and even Internet access. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in his official Facebook page said students in the higher learning institutions require not only books but other learning accessories as well. “Thus, as announced in the 2017 Budget, the 1Malaysia Book Voucher would be replaced with a student debit card worth RM250. InsyaAllah (God willing), this initiative would benefit 1.3 million students,” he said. The 1Malaysia Book Voucher scheme was introduced during Najib’s 2012 Budget announcement where RM260million was allocated.
