Erupt has a good record on fast ground and is fancied to claim the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (4.30) for France at Ascot today. That was just Erupt’s fourth start and he looked an outstanding prospect, but he has failed to win again in five subsequent runs. However, two of those have been on heavy ground, which he cannot cope with, and He is trained by Francis-Henri Graffard, a former assistant to Alain de Royer-Dupré, and provided his handler with a first group one success when landing the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp a year ago.
