Picture by Damien LepchaItanagar: The department of youths and affairs, Arunachal Pradesh, organised a reception-cum-flag-in ceremony for Everester Muri Linggi here on Friday. Linggi, 40, of Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district, recently earned the distinction of becoming the third woman from Arunachal to scale Mount Everest. Linggi told the gathering that Mena's Everest summit in 2011 had inspired her to take up mountaineering as a career. Earlier, congratulating Linggi for her feat, parliamentary secretary for sports and youths affairs Nyamar Karbak said the Everester has not only made the state, but the entire country proud. Muri completed her advance mountaineering course from Darjeeling in 2016 and climbed the Gorichen Peak in October 2017.
