GEORGE TOWN (Bernama): The police will take stern action against those who lend their cars to foreigners without a driving licence, especially if it results in a fatal accident. Penang police chief Datuk T. Narenasagaran said car owners could have their licence suspended or be subjected to heavy penalties if their vehicles were involved in fatal accidents. "Recently, there have been several cases of accidents involving foreigners driving vehicles borrowed from locals which have caused the deaths of other road users. Never lend your car to a foreigner without a valid driving licence. "The initial investigation shows that she has a Vietnam driving licence but we will confirm with the Road Transport Department on the status of her licence.
