Ade Adesomoju, AbujaThe High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Maitama, Abuja, on Thursday, adjourned indefinitely proceedings in the trial of the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, for an alleged frame-up. Justice Olasunbo Goodluck took the decision on the grounds of Melaye’s ill health, which had kept him on admission at the Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital, Abuja. Melaye was granted N10m bail by the High Court of Kogi State in Lokoja in respect of the gun-running charges instituted against him by the police. He also has charges of attempted suicide pending against him before a Magistrates’ Court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja. But in the case which the FCT High Court adjourned indefinitely on Thursday, the prosecution accused Melaye of deliberately giving false information to the police to frame the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Mr. Edward Onoja David, in an alleged plot to assassinate him.
