01 Jun 2024| 05:09am ISTTomorrow never comesPradeep LawandeYesterday, today and tomorrow are the three periods of time that represent past, present and future respectively. It is ‘kal; Thus in this language “kal, aaj aur kal” means yesterday, today and tomorrow. I remember in my childhood, some of the shopkeepers in our village used to say frequently “Today Cash; tomorrow Credit”. At the moment, I recollect another incident that illustrates the truth that tomorrow never comes. From the above two incidents, it is quite clear that tomorrow is a portion of time recognized by mankind and that it never comes.

Taking a hit: Donald Trump owns a 65 per cent stake in the companyDonald Trump yesterday saw more than £400million wiped off his fortune as shares in his social media company fell in the wake of his criminal conviction. New York-listed Trump Media & Technology (TMT) dropped by as much as 9 per cent during choppy trading a day after he was found guilty of falsifying documents to cover up hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. The former president owns a 65 per cent stake in the company, which controls his social media platform, Truth Social. The loss-making company's valuation at £7.2billion – prior to the verdict against Trump – meant it was trading at a valuation of more than 2,000 times its £3.2million revenue in 2023. Art Hogan, chief market strategist at wealth manager B. Riley Wealth, said: 'The volatility is not surprising.

Two fifths of working young adults still live with their parents, study findsKenneth FoxSome 40 per cent of Irish young people aged 25 to 34 who are in employment are still living with their parents, according to a new study. In Nordic countries it is much less common for people in their 20s and 30s to live with their parents than in Southern Europe. This is partly cultural but can also be attributed to the precarious employment situation of temporary workers in Southern Europe. Young people are more likely to be in temporary employment and this lack of employment security can prevent them from securing accommodation outside the family home. Young people are also less satisfied with their jobs than older cohorts and would like more autonomy at work.

Now in its 18th year, people flock in their tens of thousands for a long weekend of gardening, good food and entertainment. Having worked on other projects at Bloom in the past, this was the first Bloom show garden of his own design. Mr Lepel rotated the garden’s semi-circular glass pavilion, turning a sheltered, open-air sitting area into a fully enclosed space. 'It would be a shame if we left without that All-Ireland'By Kevin EganIt’s not hard to see why Offaly GAA went looking for Leo O’Connor to be part of the county’s hurling revival. Then in 2013 we were beaten in an All-Ireland semi-final, 2014 beaten in an All-Ireland final, 2015 beaten in a quarter-final, 2016 reach an All-Ireland minor final,” he said at last Sunday’s media event in the Faithful Fields. It’s going back to the tradition of Offaly hurling from the early 1980s and continuing on to the 1990s. We have beaten a Clare team in a semi-final, but we haven’t beaten any Munster team in a final. It’d be a shame if we left without that All-Ireland,” he added.

READ MOREI bedded in at a supermarket creche and survived with all my teeth and without contracting impetigo. Imagine playing with the Big Red Fun Bus inside a big red fun bus. Keep your Nintendo Switches and Emerald Park rollercoasters, nothing could ever beat a creche on a bus. Superquinn closed its creche facilities in 2006, and of course all Superquinns are now with O’Leary in the grave. But when I sing it, I’m telling a story about how I bedded in at a supermarket creche and survived with all my teeth and without contracting impetigo.
