The PLA will consist of four services (Army, Navy, Air Force and Rocket Force) and four arms (the Aerospace Force, Cyberspace Force, Information Support Force and Joint Logistic Support Force). Finally, the reorganisation and formation of an aerospace force within the PLA is a step towards China’s efforts to counter the threat from the US space force. A critical NASA mission in the search for life beyond Earth, Mars Sample Return, is in trouble. Its budget has ballooned from US$5 billion to over $11 billion, and the sample return date may slip from the end of this decade to 2040. As an astronomer who studies cosmology and has written a book about early missions to Mars, I've been watching the sample return saga play out. Curiosity, which landed on Mars in 2012, is still active; its twin, Perseverance, which landed on Mars in 2021, will play a crucial role in the sample return mission. Sample return breaks the bankMars Sample Return has blown a hole in NASA's budget, which threatens other missions that need funding.

They keep a landline for emergencies because their only Internet service is satellite, and cellular service in the area is poor. On top of no service then they charged them $298 for phatom 411 calls when they knew their service was down. This sounds like another reason for more regulation to where telecom companies must report outages and repair status publicly. We need to do better as a country as telecommunications is essential to our way of life just like electricity. Mr. Blinken stressed that the U.S. would make sure that the competition between the world’s two largest economies “doesn’t veer into conflict”. He raised America’s concerns about what he called China’s “support for Russia’s defence industry” and threatened actions if Beijing “doesn’t address this problem”. China also attacked the U.S. policy towards Taiwan and the South China Sea and urged Washington to look at China’s development “in a positive light”. It has also doubled down on its support for Taiwan and bolstered defence cooperation with the Philippines, which has disputes with China in the South China Sea. Beijing has blamed the U.S. for South China Sea tensions and called Washington’s support for Taiwan as an intervention in its internal affairs.

Australian grocery chain Coles has initiated requests for increased product shipments following a deceleration in inflation that has spurred consumer purchasing. This has resulted in a notable uplift in its March quarter supermarket sales. This adjustment in pricing contributed to a 5.1% growth in supermarket sales, reaching AS9.1 billion over the 12 weeks ending March 24, surpassing analyst expectations of below 5% growth. Coles CEO Leah Weckert highlighted the company's ongoing dialogues with suppliers aimed at boosting volume and promotional activities to further stimulate sales growth. This financial performance update comes at a crucial time, potentially alleviating political pressures facing Coles and Woolworths regarding their role in the cost of living crisis and food insecurity in Australia.

NEW DELHI: Australia expelled two Indian spies in 2020 for allegedly trying to "steal secrets" about sensitive defence projects and airport security, the Australian media reported on Tuesday. While The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald said two Indian spies were booted out, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) did not mention any number. There was no immediate comment from Indian officials on the Australian media reports. "Indian spies were kicked out of Australia after being caught trying to steal secrets about sensitive defence projects and airport security, as well as classified information on Australia's trade relationships," the ABC report said. The so-called foreign "nest of spies" disrupted by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) in 2020 was also accused of closely monitoring Indians living in Australia and developing close relationships with current and former politicians, it said.
