Hospice care in Central Otago has a new place to call home, as the Otago Community Hospice opened its new Hospice Hub in Cromwell earlier this week. The Hospice Hub was previously located in Cromwell’s industrial area and often difficult to access due to trucks, as well as feeling closed in. The Rev Te Kauru Cameron, of Te Aka Puaho (the Presbyterian Māori Synod), opens the Hospice Hub in Cromwell on Tuesday. The blessing of the Hospice Hub coincided with Hospice Awareness Week which started yesterday. The Otago Community Hospice would use the week to continue to raise awareness of hospice services and the challenges they face.
