A CITY councillor raised funds to buy 20 tablets so students could follow home-based teaching and learning sessions. Chan San San, who is in charge of the Johor Jaya zone under Johor Baru City Council (MBJB), thanked donors who enabled her to buy the devices worth a total of RM6,000. “There are quite a number of students from low-income households in the area facing difficulties due to insufficient Internet data plans and limited electronic gadgets. Chan added that 10 of the brand new devices had been distributed to students from SJK (C) Pei Hwa, SJK (C) Chien Chi, SJK (C) Johor Jaya, SK Bakar Batu and SMK Tun Syed Nasir. Chan hopes to hand out the devices to the remaining 10 recipients in the coming week.
