Public awareness in these situations can dramatically improve response times so the sooner you spot an emergency vehicle, the more time you have to make way. What should you do when you see an emergency vehicle? Signal your intention to pull over and do so only in a spot that allows the emergency vehicle to pass safely. Remain in the pulled-over position until the emergency vehicle has passed, staying alert for any additional emergency vehicles. You should never:Tailgate or overtake an emergency vehicle or race after an emergency vehicle to get through a traffic light;Break a red light or speed to allow emergency vehicles to pass, unless directed by gardaí or emergency services personnel;Pass a moving emergency vehicle showing flashing lights.
