MILAN—Italy’s coronavirus outbreak continued to spread, bucking efforts to contain it mostly to two rural areas near Milan and Venice. New cases appeared as far south as Sicily, showing the limits of quarantining towns and the difficulties facing health officials. At least 322 people had been confirmed to have contracted the virus in Italy as of Tuesday afternoon, Italian authorities said. The death toll stood at 11, all of them elderly people.
