At age 29, John Neyenhouse’s life was turned upside down. In 1967, Neyenhouse began his career in education as an elementary school teacher and high school coach in New York. “I was living the dream.” That dream was shattered on May 29, 1974, when Neyenhouse was in a car accident and received news that would change his life. “I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis,” he said. “It was known as the crippler of young adults back then, and they said my prognosis was not good.”
