University Academic Staff Union (UASU) and Kenya Universities Staff Union (KUSU) officials issued the strike notice on Thursday over failure by the government to implement a 2013-2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement. National secretary general UASU Dr Constantine Wasonga and KUSU secretary General Dr Charles Mukhwaya said the industrial action will involve all members of the two unions in 33 public universities. Dr Mukhwaya said the last time university workers were awarded a salary increase was in 2010.
