Other omissions included calls for a working group to review progress on ending sexual violence. However, before the government introduced the resolution, there were concerns that it risked weakening the women, peace and security agenda. The three-day event is part of the UK government’s Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative (PSVI). The UK is expected to launch the “Murad Code” on sexual violence, named after the Yazidi Nobel peace prize laureate. The code will set out standards of behaviour and care when gathering evidence of sexual violence.
