UAE gifts 18 big cats to Lahore Safari Zoo


Big cats includ­e four white tigers, six Bengal tigers as well as eight Africa­n lionsLAHORE: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) vice president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday gifted 18 big cats to the Lahore Zoo. The big cats include four white tigers, six Bengal tigers, as well as, eight African lions. Wild life authorities said that the lions and tigers would join the existing big cats currently housed at the Lahore Safari Zoo. Lahore Zoo invites citizens to ‘adopt’ a friendAdviser to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said that all arrangements have been completed to house the big cats. At the time, 30 different types of tigers and lions, including their cubs, were present in the Lahore Safari Zoo.
