The incident occurred in Dhamankhali village in Palangkhali union around 4am on Friday. The deceased were identified as Mostak Ahmed, 38, and his brother Moktar Ahmed, sons of Jabar Malluk of Dhamankhali village. Ukhia police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Khayer said: “Acting on a tip-off about a possible gunfight between two groups of yaba traders in Palangkhali, a team of ours conducted a drive in the area. Upon seeing law enforcement, the yaba traders fled the scene.”Later, police recovered two wounded people, who were shot in the shootout.
