Teenage musical prodigy Nadine Weber to lead violin concert in Cairo

The aspiring violinist will be play in a joint performance with Cairo Symphony Orchestra and Egyptian cellist Kamel Salah.Weber will be playing symphonies for classic composers including Beethoven’s “The Consecration of the House, Overture op.124”, Lalo’s “Symphonie Espagnole op.21”, and Strauss’ “Don Quixote - Fantastic Variations of Cello and Orchestra op. 35”.The orchestra will be conducted by Nader Abbasi an experienced Egyptian-Swiss conductor and former Artistic Director and Principal Conductor for the Cairo Opera Orchestra, according to a released statement by the Austrian Cultural Forum.Weber is considered a musical prodigy, and is described by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Cairo as the “violin wunderkind”. She began playing violin at age of three, and was later enrolled in the Music University of Graz at the age of eight.In 2014, the ambitious musician began studying at the celebrated University of Vienna as a talented student of high-ability. Weber is currently 16 years old and has already won a number of awards for her musical accomplishments, including the prestigious “Prima la Musica” award granted at the Austrian National Competition.
