Tarek Morad – press courtesy image Louisville City FC official websiteCAIRO –14 November 2017: Egyptian-American defender Tarek Morad played 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet as Louisville City FC beat Swope Park Rangers 1-0 to win the 2017 USL Cup.Louisville reached the United Soccer League Cup final after winning the Eastern Conference title last week with a 4-3 penalty shootout win over last year’s winners, New York Red Bulls II. On their road to the title, they also beat Bethlehem Steel 4-0 and Rochester Rhinos 1-0.Swope Rangers likewise reached the USL Cup final after winning the Western Conference title last week with a 7-6 penalty win over OKC Energy FC. On their path to the Western title, they also beat Drogba’s Phoenix Rising 4-2 on penalties and Sacramento Republic 1-0.The USL title is Louisville City FC’s first since the move to Kentucky after being Conference finalists in 2015 and 2016. The 2018 season is expected to start late March of next year.
