Sean Spicer blasted a new report Saturday of a secret FBI investigation into whether President Trump was working on behalf of Russia shortly after he fired former director James Comey. Spicer, a former White House press secretary, noted that the New York Times report referenced an interview between Trump and NBC News, in which the president said Comey's firing may extend the Russia probe but that it'd be the right thing to do for the American people. The Times' report later notes that "no evidence has emerged publicly that Mr. Trump was secretly in contact with or took direction from Russian government officials." Spicer also refuted calls by the media that the Times' report was a "bombshell" and added that they use a certain group of words when it comes to Trump. "Every couple days he's 'fuming,' then there's a 'bombshell' report, then 'the walls are closing in.'
