Police watchdog continues probe into downtown Calgary shooting on Saturday

CALGARY—The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team released more details on Sunday about a police shooting of two suspects accused of trying to run down two Calgary officers after they allegedly tried to drive into a downtown military parade. A bike officer tried to direct them away from 8 Avenue, but the car drove around the officer and turned the corner. According to the statement, three officers – including the bike officer who originally tried to direct the car away from the parade – approached it and issued commands to the driver. ASIRT said it drove round the corner back onto 6 Street SW and went north until it hit a commercial Dodge van.
