A car up on blocks was no obstacle for a group of Hamilton contractors whose 'she'll be right' attitude came up with a simple solution when resealing the road - just go around it. Waimarie Street in Hamilton was due to be resealed by crews working under the council's Infrastructure Alliance in the quiet period after Christmas. Despite letterbox drops informing residents, a seemingly abandoned car with no wheels was left up on blocks on the side of the wide street. Rather than delay the job, throwing the team's tight schedule off, they decided to just go around the car instead. The alliance was working to get the car removed if required.
