PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Wednesday that his party’s 13 senators will vote for the candidate fielded by Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bazinjo, adding that he believes the next Senate chairman should belong to Balochistan. Talking to reporters, Khan said that the PTI does not want a Senate chairman from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He said that they were afraid that in case the Senate chairman is from the PML-N, they may enact laws to safeguard the Sharif family from the charges of corruption they face. He added that the PTI cannot work with a party like Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). Khan said that his party will meet on Friday to come up with a strategy in this regard.
