more-inKOCHI: Minister for Cooperation Kadakampally Surendran has assuaged fears about the formation of Kerala Bank. The Minister was inaugurating a slew of programmes organised by the Ernakulam District Cooperative Bank, said a press release here. He said neither employees would be retrenched nor the number of branches of cooperative banks reduced when the proposed Kerala Bank was formed. Banking on youthThe Minister said though cooperative banks had set an example for the whole nation, they had not been able to attract young people. Modernisation of cooperative banks is needed to attract youth,” he observed.
