Meat shops across Gurugram were forcibly shut by members of the Sanyukt Hindu Sangharsh Samiti in view of the nine-day festival of Navratri. They alleged that most of the meat shops in the city were illegal, but the administration had failed to take action against them. Hindu Kranti Dal leader Rajiv Mittal said the Samiti members went across the city in separate groups to ensure that all meat shops were closed. We requested those who had opened their shops to shut them in view of Navratri,” said Mr. Mittal. Mr. Mittal said Mr. Rao also assured probe into the matter and necessary action.
