A Thane Sessions court granted bail to Maharashtra's first private lady detective, Rajani Pandit, on Monday. Pandit had approached the sessions court seeking bail through her Advocate Madhav Thorat, after a magistrate court had turned down her plea. It was further argued that Pandit had not purchased the CDR; it was in fact the other accused who had purchased it from her. Thorat said the court granted her bail on a personal bond of Rs 25,000 and two sureties of Rs 10,000 each. Police have so far arrested a total of nine in the case, of which, Pandit is the first one to be granted bail.
