On the second night of a back-to-back set, the Wizards collapsed late against the Boston Celtics and fell, 117-108. Boston guard Isaiah Thomas scored 38 points in a shootout with Washington’s Bradley Beal, who finished with 35. Boston scored 34 points over the final 12 minutes to snap the Wizards’ three-game winning streak and send them back to .500 at 19-19. For the Wizards, Beal, Otto Porter Jr. and Marcin Gortat all started hot. The knockout blow came with a 13-0 Celtics run late sealed the Wizards’ defeat.
