Ramana Kumar has said that home guards are helping the police in maintaining bandobust during festivals, floods, VVIP visits, airport and other government programmes. The home guards system was first established in 1963 in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. He praised the home guards for collecting fund and helping the families of retired home guards and those killed in road mishaps. Rana, Gajarao Bhupal, J. Brahma Reddy and Amarnath, home guards commandant Prakasha Rao, DSP Ramakrishna and others were present.
