General News of Thursday, 16 May 2019Source: ghananewsagency.orgGNPC awards scholarships to 200 Ghanaians to study in CubaKwaku Agyaman-Manu (middle) in a group photograph with the awardeesThe Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has awarded scholarships to 200 Ghanaian students (170 undergraduates and 30 postgraduates) to study medicine in Cuban. The GNPC is sponsoring them in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration (MoFARI) and the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba. The GNPC scholarship package covers cost of tuition, accommodation, feeding, medical insurance, book allowance and monthly living expenses. Of the 200 awardees, 52 of them have already gone to Cuba to start their studies. In addition, 50 more would be leaving Ghana for Cuba by the end of the week.
