Duterte to leave ‘letters of dismissal’ for corrupt officials before China tripBy The Manila TimesPRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte will be leaving a number of “letters of dismissal” before he flies to China for the Belt and Road Forum on Wednesday. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the seventh Union Asia Pacific Regional Conference here in Pasay City on Tuesday, Duterte once again floated the termination of several government officials for corruption although he did not name them. He hinted on firing all officials of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) for their supposed unpreparedness for the El Niño. There are millions of Filipinos waiting outside, more brighter than you, more smart,” he said. In the past, Duterte has fired several high-ranking officials and heads of offices accused of corruption, excessive travels and abuse of power.
