The deceased is Hasinur Rahman Sokir, 65, Awami League chairman of local ward—and son of late Jarip Sarker—hailing from Garfa village in Chandai union of the same upazila. Hasinur died on Monday night. Chandai UP Chairman Anisur Rahman said: “On the way back home, the drug gang made Hasinur unconscious and robbed him. Members of this type of gangs dope their targets before robbing them of money and belongings.
