Demand for senior, mid-level managers up 54% in 2016Vietnam is at risk of running out of skilled managers, according to Navigos Search, while highly-qualified IT engineers with good English and managerial skills have headed overseas to work. Despite a slight fall (5 per cent) in recruitment demand for senior and mid-level managers in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared to the third quarter, overall demand for the personnel group via Navigos Search increased 54 per cent in 2016 against 2015, according to a Navigos Search report released on January 9. In the fourth quarter, Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, and Finance - Banking held the Top 3 places in terms of recruitment demand for senior and mid-level managers, accounting for 37 per cent, 18 per cent, and 11 per cent, respectively. The three industries also had the highest recruitment demand in the year as a whole. In the second half of 2016, Navigos Search also observed that “brain drain” was increasingly serious, with great numbers of local talent in IT and Accounting/Auditing heading abroad.
