OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENTCalcutta: The Bengal CID will check two lockers of former IPS officer Bharati Ghosh at a nationalised bank here to know if they contain gold allegedly procured through illegal means when she was the police chief of West Midnapore. Ghosh's name has emerged as a suspect in the alleged gold racket in West Midnapore. She has been on the run. Acting on a prayer by the CID to allow access to the lockers, the additional chief judicial magistrate at Ghatal in West Midnapore has instructed the bank to cooperate with the investigating officer. A voice clip with the purported voice of Ghosh emerged on Monday evening, in which she accused the Trinamul Congress of "harassing her."
