AFP downgrades alert level nationwide 0 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Aaron RecuencoThe Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has downgraded the alert level for its forces nationwide after what it described as successful and peaceful elections on Monday. Gen. Edgard Arevalo, AFP spokesman, said the downgrading from alert status to blue was prompted by their assessment and monitoring of a decreased threat after nearly all local candidates were proclaimed. “Red Alert was downgraded to blue as at 12 noon (Wednesday) now that nearly all local candidates have been proclaimed,” said Arevalo. The Philippine National Police, on the other hand, is still in full alert status, according to its spokesman, Police Col. Bernard Banac.
