Out of the 16 books which have made it to the Women’s Prize For Fiction longlist, Kamila Shamsie’s book Home Fire is one of them. The Pakistani writer’s seventh novel Home Fire is a contemporary re-imagining of the Greek tragedy Antigone. Other contenders in the list include Arundhati Roy who has been nominated for her book The Ministry of Utmost Happiness. The Women’s Prize For Fiction is the UK’s most prestigious annual book award for fiction written by a woman. Last year, Kamila Shamsie was longlisted for The Man Booker Prize.
