Migration is one of the issues raised in talks between Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Libyan counterpart Fayez al-Sarraj in Valletta on Wednesday morning. Sarraj is on a scheduled fleeting visit, which coincided with the latest migrant crisis in the Mediterranean that sees 49 persons stranded at sea off the Maltese coast. In introductory remarks, Muscat said the visit came at an appropriate time. He added that the situation in Libya was one of great interest to Malta. Muscat was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne, Foreign Minister Carmelo Abela, Economy Minister Chris Cardona, Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi, Home Affairs Minister Michael Farrugia and former foreign minister Alex Sciberras Trigona.
