As per the MoU signed at the Magnetic Maharashtra summit, the state has promised to give Yadav land to set up the plant in Dahanu district, roughly 145km north of Mumbai. ​ The MoU is part of the state government’s push to invest in the fields of defence and aerospace​. The state government has decided to give him 157 acres of land in Dahanu, and promised an investment of Rs35,000 crore for the development of an aircraft manufacturing hub there, Yadav said. At least 50 northern Tamil youth, including 11 former LTTE members, have been enlisted to serve the Sri Lanka Army’s volunteer force, the military spokesman said today. They will not be wearing the military uniforms, but would be entitled to pension and other related benefits, military spokesman Brigadier Sumith Atapattu said, adding that they will be deployed for agricultural work carried out by the Army. At the end of the three-decade-old separatist war, around 11,000 LTTE cadres had turned themselves over to the Army. Atapattu said there will be more Tamil youth recruited to the military in the near future. Prabhakaran, 54, was shot dead by Sri Lankan special forces as he tried to stage a dramatic breakout from the army encirclement, a military spokesman said.

Bhushan Steel shares soared close to 20 per cent to hit upper circuit limit of Rs 53.85 on BSE. "Once the resolution plans are identified, another meeting of CoC will be convened to present the compliant plans for the consideration of the CoC," Bhushan Steel said.When asked about Tata Steel's bid offer, its managing director and CEO TV Narendran said, "I would not comment on the numbers. Media report says we are the highest ... if media reports about other bids are right then probably we are the highest." According to the Bhushan Steela s website, it is the third largest secondary steel producer in the country with annual capacity of 5.6 million tonne.

Islamic State militants have ambushed a group of Iraq’s Shia-led paramilitary fighters, killing at least 27. The Popular Mobilization Forces, an umbrella group of mostly Shia militias, said on Monday the attack took place the previous night in al-Saadounya area, southwest of the northern city of Kirkuk, when the paramilitaries were conducting overnight raids.
