AHEAD of the 2019 general elections which kick off this Saturday, Voters in the country have been called upon to be peaceful before, during and after the elections process as well as play by the rules and vote for candidates of their choices. The appeal was contained in a statement issued by the Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC), on Monday calling on all eligible voters to freely exercise their franchise and eschew all forms of violence, intimidation, electoral corruption and anything that may compromise the 2019 general election’s. The North East team leader of IPAC, Hamisu Santuraki said in the statement that IPAC is committed to promoting and fostering harmonious Inter-party relations, and violence-free election. It is also fighting the growing obnoxious vote buying/cash inducement syndrome in elections, stressing that the council complement INEC’s Stellar efforts to conduct very successful elections nationwide. Hamisu Santuraki, therefore, enjoined voters, security agencies and stakeholders in the electoral process to support the call by IPAC to deepen democracy in Nigeria through fostering free and credible general elections in 2019.
